What do I get with a LHINET domain?
When you order a domain through LHINET, you receive the disk space and data transfer necessary for your site to be accessed on the World Wide Web. Additionally, you will receive a software suite that enables
you to manage that space and build your website. You will manage your site through a web-based Control Panel that guides you through the more than 30 possible features included with your domain.

What is a domain name and how can I get one?
A domain name is your address on the World Wide Web. To be accessed from anywhere in the world, a domain name must be registered with an ICANN accredited registrar. If you already have a domain name, there is
no additional cost to use that domain name with LHINET. If you need a domain name you can purchase one through the LHINET order form. We'll handle the entire registration and domain name management process for you. LHINET can register
available .com, .net, and .org domain names. Use our
order form to check the availability of the domain name you want.

Does LHINET permit "adult" hosting?
Pornography and sex-related merchandising is prohibited on all our servers. This includes sites that may infer sexual content, or links to adult content elsewhere.
We will be the sole arbiter in determining violations of this provision.

Sending bulk volumes of unsolicited email, or "spamming", is in violation of our aup policy and LHINET Terms of Service and will result in termination of your account. There are legal and ethical issues involved in mass mailing of unsolicited email

What are your server specifications?
The network servers are PIII's with at least
1.13 GHZ processors and 1GB of RAM. All have dual power supplies and battery backup power.

What software runs on your servers?
We use RedHat Linux Version 6.1 using Apache 1.3.20 as the web server. We also offer PHP
4.2.1, MySQL 3.23, and Perl 5.6.1.

How do I transfer my site to LHINET's servers?
Step 1: Sign up with us just as if it was a new account.
Step 2: Within an short while you will receive an email from us stating that your account is being set up and we are processing you an IP number.
Step 3: Transfer your content and test your site on our server with your IP number. You use the IP number just like a domain name. For example, if we give you an IP number of 209.239.33.2, you can put that number in a browser as:
http://209.239.33.2 to see what your pages will look like on our server.
Step 4: Then email a domain name transfer request to the appropriate registrar company, the company that you initially registered your domain name through. Use the LHINET.com nameservers that we send to you with your welcome pack when transferring your
domain name.
Step 5: Once you verify the transfer, the registrar will point your domain name to our name server, and the rest of the world will be able to access your new site on our server with the domain name.

What is LHINET's connectivity?
LHINET is "OnNet" with GlobalCenter (GC), Qwest Communications and GTE through three separate bandwidth-on-demand connections. LHINET does not need to link to the Internet though an OC3 or T3 Telecom
circuit. Instead, independent cables run directly from the our servers to all three carriers points of presence. The direct connection to three Internet backbones provides fast access to our servers from almost everywhere in the world.

Can I add additional subdomains?
Subdomains can be added and
billed monthly, quarterly, semiannually, or annually.

What features are included in a subdomain?
Subdomains created through the "Add Domain" button will receive their own IP address, Control Panel, and
independent features. Features are not deducted from the subdomains.

e-Commerce
Is access to a secure certificate (SSL) included in the e-Commerce Package?
SSL Server / Secure Certificates are available with the e-Commerce package.
You may choose to use our secure certificate for the e-Commerce Package. Contact us if you require SSL Server. As an example, you may not have to purchase your own SSL Certificate from Thawte, (you would be using: https://servername.com/yourdomain/page.html).
Note: A Merchant account with a local financial institution is a requirement for a shared certificate.
If you would prefer to perform secure transactions on the web using https://yourdomain.com (instead of the path we mention in the above paragraph), you must
acquire a secure certificate from Thawte or Verisign. You can generate the Certificate Signing Request (CSR) and install the certificate with your Control Panel.

Does the e-Commerce Package include a shopping cart?
The e-Commerce Package includes our shopping cart, SmartECart Express. SmartECart's professional-looking, template-driven storefront enables you to easily create a unique "look and feel" for your store without the need to know HTML. Products are displayed in a simple, straight-forward manner that makes shopping with SmartECart fun and easy.

Can SmartECart perform real-time credit card processing?
SmartECart comes in two versions, Express and Pro. SmartECart Pro processes credit card orders in real-time through the AuthorizeNet payment gateway and has a higher product limit.
